I’m in my upper 20’s, I have a lot of friends I would honestly describe as having a gambling “issue”, it’s a spectrum, some are worse than others. However, I do find it interesting that my peers are so disenfranchised, they’d rather spend time and whatever limited money they have, trying to hit a lottery, rather than work and attempt to move through the social ladder or whatever.
Now, I say all of that, to say, how are we, as a society, okay with this? How is it that I would put my life trajectory in the hands of a digital slot machine? Well, the simple answer is capitalism.
The Roman’s thought it had to be “bread and circus” imagine how stupid they must feel, all you need is a circus to keep your population from coming together.
Anyway, rant over. This image makes me sad.

Because for people who can't conceive of breaking the rules, but very clearly see there is no hope for them within the rules, gambling is the only way.
They gsmble because it's the closest thing they can feel to hope.
I wasn’t attempting to disparage them. Because I get it. I don’t gamble, but I have my own destructive ways to get through the days. Just unfortunate that it’s the case.
These screenshots imply the family's wealth is built upon the father's full time gambling addiction "working out" (he never quit, apparently).
Realistically though this is either a shitpost, satire, or pointing out the stupidity of thinking gambling will support your family. (And this is the place to repost lol)
