I wrote a book called Future Sepsis
I finally finished and published my first sci-fi novel, Future Sepsis: Book 1, and it’s out now!
This isn’t a Kickstarter or some “maybe you’ll get it one day” thing. It’s a finished book you can actually pick up today on Amazon.
The story starts in 2024 when four people die in a plane crash. A hundred years later, they wake up in a society that’s rebuilt itself into something very different from ours. Neural implants and AI are everywhere, and the way people interact with each other and the world has completely changed. Institutions and culture have shifted in ways that feel alien but also very human.
I wrote it as hard science fiction, which for me means the tech works the way real tech would, and the characters act like actual people—with all the messy consequences that come with that.
It’s available DRM-free as an ebook and paperback. For folks who aren't into Amazon, it's posted to a bunch of other stores too, but they may not have shown up yet.
Like my previous book, The Graysonian Ethic, I’ve added a note to the legal page: in 15 years, the book will enter the public domain where possible, and be released under CC0 everywhere else.
The cover was made with a toy plane and fake costume blood on a sunny day in winter. The toy got a good home after the photo shoot. I still have a multi-lifetime supply of take blood.
Is it Zesty Mint flavored?
I didn't know what it tasted like, so I took a bit.
I do not recommend drinking the fake blood. I expected it to taste sweet like corn syrup or glycerine, but it just kind of tasted like clotted too.
My theatre department always used Zesty Mint flavor
I kind of wish it tasted like zesty mint. Flavorless clot is really not palatable. If I were acting with this in my mouth I'd be spending half my time trying to ignore how gross it feels.
Will I be able to purchase this on Google Play books?
Yes. The same day I put up this post, I created my Google Play books partner account. It isn't confirmed yet I think because they try to keep out spammers, but it's already uploaded and ready to go as soon as it gets through that.
I also put it up on Kobi the same day, as well as a bunch of other stores.
Nice! Once it's on GPB, I'll buy a copy!
I've been keeping an eye on it, and this morning future sepsis went live on Google Play books.
Sweet. I've been checking too.
Thanks for the follow up.

Yes, it didn't show up in search for me either. Really bizarre. (I probably didn't buy enough advertising)
Got it. Thanks.
I just checked and I don't see it in the US version.
I'm check later this week.
Purchased on Apple Books. It was a quick and enjoyable read. Looking forward to book 2.
Oh wow, thank you so much!
