So am I. Following a friend's advice, I started doing 30 minute exercise after work. It has helped a lot.

In my case, it was due to overstimulation. Now I stop looking at screens about an hour before sleeping, and I turn off all light sources before sleeping, and I managed to regulate my sleep.

Me, staring at my alarm about to go off in 5 minutes after tossing and turning for an hour: "this is the single most comfortable spot in the universe and I am so sleepy now"

Sleepy and tired aren't the same. I'm mentally drained after work, but not sleepy, just zombified.

Exactly, can't go a few hours of work without someone else's stupidity giving you brain damage.

Looking at your phone screen won’t help you get sleepy.

I kept thinking about something and it did help a bit to distract me

But I also moved around a bit, got some water, and played with the cat.

Nice! Most are so boring, you just straight up nick off, eh?

A frog would be crushed by the majority of gym equipment.

That worked very well for me, turns out my job was far too boring and offered no challenges.

I made the mistake of not succesfully monetizing my workouts, because groceries got so expensive i had to stop my gym membership.

Have been a vegetable ever since, zero motivation and energy to do shit.

To be fair, we can't sleep partly because we spend the evening looking at a screen

That's what I did/do, you probably have an undiagnosed ADHD like me. We crave the serotonin so much, that if we don't have it for 5 minutes we fall asleep.

Insomnia isn't just a magical curse put on you. There are real causes, some of which are side-effects of the high rate of caffeine consumption.

Insomnia is a chronic incurable medical condition.

If you can cure it by limiting caffeine consumption, that's not medical insomnia that's just a caffeine issue.

It's just like migraines. If you can treat it with ibuprofen, you don't have a migraine you have a headache.

‘High caffeine consumption’

My caffeine consumption: less than 70 mg/day, equivalent to one very weak cup of coffee.
