Among the recycling materials only 40% gets recycled the rest burned for energy. Recycling is energy intensive so half of the energy will be from fossil fuels while the remaining 60% of the plastic not recycled also has to be then reproduced from fossil fuels that eventually end 60% in our atmosphere for being burned.
