I live in South Carolina, the birthplace of the rebellion, and let me tell you just how awful it is to drive past an incredibly tall flagpole with a tremendous Confederate Naval Jack on it in the middle of nowhere. It's a heart-dropping Deliverance vibe for me with my biracial family in the car every time.

To be fair, it's not all the time or everywhere, but seeing it even occasionally hurts my soul.

They're not rebels. They were traitors who never got what they deserved which is partly why this country is so divided now. Never let them control the narrative.
