If your beef starts walking away through the holes in your roof I think it's a sign...

The funniest part of the whole avocado toast thing for me is how cheap avocados are. Making it at home is fairly economical.

It really depends on where you are. Close to where they are farmed? Hella cheap. A grocery store far removed from the supply source? Pretty expensive.

Shit, where I live there is a grocery store across the street, and then 2-3 blocks down in the opposite direction is a produce stand and pick your own strawberry field. Avacados are a little over $4 per fruit at the grocery store; I can get 10 for $1 at the produce stand.

Oh wow. I guess I didn’t factor that in. I live in New England, and pay between 3-6 dollars per bag. They’re super cheap at target of all places. I usually avoid aldi because they are close to ripe and I like to plan them. When I buy them, I usually get several days out of them.

$3-6 a bag depending on where I go. Enough for a couple days of guac, and several toasts.
