Had a nice trip in alcasce last year. DB app saved me, train travel around strasbourg, up to Frankfurt and all the surrounding towns was easy. The German trains are nicer though, but expensive
Not my local pub though, I was a temporary dweller in Europe. Germany in particular has a fantastic public transit network, but other countries have excellent systems as well.
