This is insane. I have two little kids that love to scream and play loudly. I go on vacations to places where kids can scream and play loudly with other kids
If people with no kids want to go relax in quiet in a place with no kids let them. Whoever is trying to prevent that should eat shit and then have to spend a week with an entire daycare of toddlers during cold a flu season and then see how they feel about people that don't want to be around kids.
Yes. Yes they are.
Especially when their parents would rather argue with you than actually do some parenting with their kids...
Parents are troublesome pets.
No. I believe the word you're looking for is 'pests'.
Had a “gentle parent” at the sports bar yesterday afternoon. Went home and watched Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory and had a good laugh.
In my case, it’s closer to “I usually like children, but don’t want to be around obnoxious ones, or inconsiderate parents who don’t know how to handle their kids.”
Don’t I have a right to not be around that noise, especially while on a vacation that I’m paying for?
I don't care much about children, but I live next to two kindergartens (is that the plural form? It would be Kindergärten in German) and one school. I'd really like to avoid them on my vacation. My solution is to avoid all people, but that can be a bit lonely.
Yes, that is the right plural form. Thanks for sharing!
Many children are fine. But some are hellspawn. Because their parents aren't doing their jobs. But we can't have hotels with "hellish children banned" now can we. So we have to ban all of them.
There sure are lazy parents. But it's not always the parents' fault. Some try their best but are just out of their depth.
Then their fault is not seeking help.
It's a resort, not a tourist attraction. You can always find another place to stay. Don't see the big deal.
(I say this as a parent myself)
They do not belong, because drugs are dangerous to children.
Is there a list of these childfree resorts?
A few years back I went to Grand Bahia Principe in Tulum, the resort mostly had adults and some young teens. The two Bahia resort next door had tons of kids and playgrounds. There was a fourth resort next door that was a bit of a trip on a cart to get to but it was fully adult only.
The only reason we didn't do the adult only one was that they didn't have walk out access to the beach.
To paraphrase the Simpsons:
_To shut these down now would be twisted
I just learned these places existed... _
(yeah, the song doesn't quite scan now but I stand by it.)
