If you want to get rid of this nightmare, Ghostery adblocker have a Never Consent feature that just kicks out any CMP instead of saying no to everything, which as a result prevents advertisers from receiving the tcfapi() response, leading to most ads not being displayed at all.

So does UBlockOrigin. There's a certain list that you just have to turn on.

Looks like Firefox Mobile's Ghostery add-on is outdated and doesn't have this feature.

EDIT: It looks like I was sort of wrong. The setting doesn't seem to show up in the main app settings, but I went to a site that had a cookie consent form after installing Ghostery and Ghostery gave me a pop-up asking if I want to enable NeverConsent on this website and/or all websites. So it looks like it does work.

I’m sorry I don’t have an Android phone to test. For me it works in Safari for macOS and iOS, and Firefox for Linux.

I guess it should work everywhere.

GPDR.

They have to be explicit because before they were implicit and selling your cookie data all over the place. So legislation says you have to be explicit about your policy and usage.

Too many sites still use cookies in a way that's not necessary though and I'm looking forward to the de-cookification for a lot of things.

I hate GPDR too. If I want to create my own website / app how do I even comply with it? Does Lemmy comply with it?

If you don't use tracking cookies you'll be compliant :)

If you have user accounts and personal data, the cookie bit is the least of your GDPR problems

Look into the "i still don't care about cookies" extension! Makes browsing a bit more peaceful.
