Rivian to Adopt NACS and get Access to Tesla’s Supercharger Network
"An adapter will be available to enable Rivian's award-winning R1T and R1S to charge on the Supercharger network as early as spring 2024. Rivian will incorporate North American Charging Standard (NACS) charge ports as standard in future R1 vehicles starting in 2025, as well as in its upcoming R2 platform."
I have no doubt now that NACS will be the standard going forward in NA instead of CCS1.

Reminds me of the Bluray vs. HD-DVD wars (or even Beta and VHS if you want to go further back).
When Bluray finally announced their killing blow to HD-DVD in 2008, it literally took 1 day for the scales to tip for the final time.
Much like this time, Bluray / HD-DVD was based not entirely on technology (both formats had many technological similarities), but on licensing to other companies. Interesting.
If you're using the two next gen DVD standards as a metaphor, can you tell me the technological benefits CCS1 has over NACS?
I really can't. Upon (very) brief research every CCS benefit has been superseded by NACS, especially with the recent automaker and charging network announcements.
BTW they're really not next-gen and one of them is dead and buried and no longer a standard of any type (like CCS will soon be).
Lets lift our glasses together for CCS1's passing. Long live NACS!
