Eurofighter is manufactured by Airbus, BAE systems and Leonardo, while FCAS is being developed by Dassault Aviation, Airbus and Indra Sistemas.

FCAS will come in 20 years, so I expect, EF or rafale for the next 30 years

I guess them choosing FCAS would mean joining the programme and making it partly their own. It's better to be a fighter jet manufacturer than just a buyer.

It would be great for the project if Spain can bring some common sense in the ego battle between Germany and France

It is so absurd. Especially since Airbus already is a French-German company ffs.

They are already part of the program. It’s Spain, France, Germany and a shaky future. We’ll know more come end of August.

I think the project is a bit symbolic of what we can do as a joint Europe. I hope it does not crash and burn, for all our sakes.

Depends on the negotiation. I totally don’t see that other nations fund one nation’s research project (like d’assault would love it to be)

If you take a look at the Eurofighter’s history (e.g. a yt summary) the old FCAS project had the same problems and on/off memberships.

Argue a lot and not move forward actually doing something? /s Jokes aside, I think if you want a good example of what we can do as a joint Europe, you better refer to the civilian aircraft of Airbus for the time being, because FCAS is more an example of the downsides of different countries being involved in it's current state.

Yeah, what I mean is that if we can do this, it is indicative that we can do other stuff, but if we can't do it, then that shows something as well.

India did the same thing. No one is going to buy shit from US.
