There are no plans to amend UK consumer law on disabling video games. Those selling games must comply with existing requirements in consumer law and we will continue to monitor this issue.

My understanding is that there's essentially not much consumer law that is video game specific. Ross, SKG is his brain child though he's not in control of the various petitions, has a few response videos about the 2 essentially non-responses.

People should be able to buy offline or buy once versions that aren’t dependent on checking in with some online server.
