Easy one: The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress by Robert A. Heinlein is an early example of this theme.
The Expanse book series also mentions this possibility.
I think I might have to add those to my reading list then 👀
The Expanse series is always a good read.
Hardwired by Walter Jon Williams takes place in the world after orbital colonies have decimated the Earth in what accurately came to be known as the Rock War.
And it's very good and highly recommended.
