It better star Don Cheadle
You beat me off to it
If it's not Don Cheadle playing the titular Captain - I'm not interested.
Deal, but he has to wear the green mullet.
The wig isn't the problem. It's the blue face paint:

I was apparently OOTL the Cheadle was involved with Captain Planet at all. I thought they were just throwing a name out there xD and I happen to like Cheadle a lot as an actor.
Cheadle played him previously in Web shorts. Someone compiled them into one video, less than 20 minutes. Absolutely hilarious.

It will be just a series about this dude on life support & discussing humane euthanasia.
This is going to be hot garbage and Captain Planet will be promoting pro corporate propaganda
Yes, this!
They will literally make up a villain, the only fictional part the series doesn't need.
I was so excited... until I saw Berlanti is involved. Pass!
Oh no
I keep trying to figire out how to make this show modern and relevant. I can only see it as a naive 90s world. I will watch it. I just hope it doesn't suck.
Dear netflix:
Hi. I'm 41 years old, which means I was about 10 years old during the original run. Therefore I was the target audience. Just came by to tell you, that Captain Planet has always sucked. The ONLY reason it had any ratings is because it had a 4pm timeslot, on weekdays, and Fresh Prince of Belair reruns didn't air until 5pm.
Seriously, nobody liked that show. It may legitimately be the first case of hate watching.
~Sincerely, some guy.
