the reason i switched is cuz the old one... well, its very close to the deadname.. aaaaand yea- naw.... i dun like that dead name...

i guess i can see how you see it as sexual, but i really don't mean it that way. it's more meant to be gender affirming
So it shows the new name in the web interface, but it still shows the old one in the app I use (Voyager). Kinda weird.
iirc the Voyager dev(s?) thinks that its super easy to impersonate someone by just changing the display name and profile picture, so they're not adding them to Voyager (for a while atleast).

I see. Their explanation makes a lot of sense, but it does bother me that they claim Lemmy compatibility without supporting the full range of features.
