I know this is an old thread, but in case anyone ends up here from a search, https://defed.xyz/ shows which instances have defederated from a particular instance.
domain.tld/instances
So for example:
http://lemmy.world/instances
Scroll to the bottom and you'll see them.
That wasn't as easy as I expected.
On Desktop computer, you can use the code below to remove federated instances list. (Use the code in Developer Console)
document.querySelector(".home-instances .row").remove();(Tested with instances that uses version 0.18.4)

Click "Instances" in the footer
CTFL + "Blocked" to take you to the defed list
