And maybe that was his idea. He‘d trick people in mass visiting his site with obnoxious embeds that beg you to close them and bam! You‘re right there in the mosch pit.
That's fair. It's quite difficult to get whole communities of people move to another platform. I still miss the RuneScape (art) community that was on Twitter. That's really the only thing I miss about the site though, so can't say I regret leaving.

X actually goes away if nobody clicks on it.
I can think of a better way to make X go away.
Happens all the time for me. It's such a stupid design decision to put it up there (or maybe it's on purpose?)

yeah i literally met my boyfriend through twitter, i’m not leaving anytime soon. I’m also using masto and bluesky though.

then get your friends to move to mastodon, and/or wait for bsky invites to give to them, or tell them to sign up for bsky.
