Aside from stores that literally don't exist, I miss the old versions of sites that suck now

Google when it was a text box and a search button, with no sponsored results or AI

Sites like Newgrounds being filled with awesome flash content and communities

The internet in general being a bunch of organic communities instead of a corporate driven hellhole

Newgrounds is still surprisingly fertile soil. It's a different crowd, but they're definitely doing weird new shit still

NotDoppler was my fav. technically the site still exists but the games don't work anymore. when I was in sixth form we had a commons room with computers and every lunch break I'd play the games on that site because it was the only flash games site that the school didn't block lol

I miss when StumbleUpon was good. I tried to go back to their new whatever-thing, and it just sucked. The internet changed too profoundly for it to survive, and its latter day mutations have not improved its viability.

Memepool

Leisure Town

Scary Go Round

Lemmy is great and all, but the old web was just a treasure, and now anything that doesn't smell bad like Facebook seems like gold by comparison and seems "good enough."

So many fond Amazing Frog memories with my little ones.

DDRFreak forums! They taught me what furries are when I was like 12. I never had a word for it before that.
