My advice is to put it in a bigger pot and let it grow a lot. Hopefully those grafts will look a bit more natural if the upper trunk thickens up.

Also, I advise finding your closest bonsai nursery and going to check it out! A tree from a good nursery wouldn't have crazy grafts like that.
