Double upvotes immediately after posting
It seems like whenever I post something, there's automatically 2 upvotes instead of the regular 1, immediately after posting. If I remove my own, it still sits at +1 instead of 0. Where is this upvote coming from?

Accounts with good karma get an extra upvote automatically. This is local-only and does not federate.

People have asked about it multiple times so I guess it's confusing and I should remove it.
Either remove it or have it stated / explained somewhere instead? Maybe in the profile settings.
Perhaps a little badge that shows good karma standing would be a viable alternative?
You could also just simply hide it in the UI.
does karma do anything? if its negative can you be banned from posting and commenting?
No, it's mostly for information only.
There is functionality in the admin area to find low karma accounts so an admin can easily review them if they want to.
Negative karma accounts have a red warning icon next to their names which everyone can see. That will not stop them posting but it might stop other people from wanting to reply.
