White sox needs to learn if you're gonna give a left jab then you need to protect the face with the right. Black sox could give a couple of hooks and upper cuts and white sox would be down on the canvas.

Tux is fat street fighter and the void is lightweight stone cold killer.

Itโ€™s evenly matched but, they also snuggle together occasionally

that's the problem - I'm not sure who's not talking to whom/who is drawing (in)appropriate boundaries. But thank you for your well wishes - much appreciated

thanks, I'm just 200m to sand and water, it's nice , very accessible

I go at night too, to see the lights around the bay , the ships are all lit up and I can see more than a few stars

Now for the drive back to Melbourne. The boys are feeling better so I hope it's better than the trip away

My mum is vehemently anti-killing to the point that she won't even relocate bugs off her treasured curry leaf plants that are constantly under attack - I've never seen the insides of a roach and don't think I'm in a rush to ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

At my old place I'd catch them under a cup and throw them outside. My mum puts kitchen gloves on and grabs them just like that which freaked me out massively as a child and as an adult

3

Wow. Full props to your mum. My mum (when growing up in the tropical soup) was fully supportive of killing. I don't think we dented the numbers though

Spent the night playing guitar, and it was worth it. The new pedal is absolutely incredible! Managed to write a new song for open mic in a few weeks. Was it worth the insane price? I tell myself: yes! Yes it was!

aussie.zone

How many hours are you getting out of it? X$ might seem large to begin with but compare it to any one time fun cost like cinema and I'll bet you're well ahead

5
aussie.zone

That's a great point! It cost 33 movie tickets and I've already gotten 15 movies worth out of it lol

this is the way

I find estimating cost on a per day basis to be a good way to think of big expenses

I always amortise the cost / use in my head for big ticket studio stuff. Makes me feel better and helps me sleep.

5

That's a great way to deal with it lol

I mean, at least I'm making something with it that gives me emotional catharsis then it's worth it.

Even though it's only 2 effects, the algos are incredible and many have multiple effects in one which helps.

I have one more on layby:

If sunday isn't for sitting in bed, reading and napping then when is?

Edit: Glad I have a spare amp in the bedroom. Sleepy cat, guitar, iPad to read SCP's and my phone playing some tunes is perfect.

Packing continues today. I have "packed" my strawberries into new tubs, all divided up, topped up with soil and a new layer of mulch on top.

I've got 5 or 6 more big rectangular tubs (the old recycling tubs, for those who remember the pre-wheelie days) and a bunch of pots to put other things into. It's the perfect time of year to be moving plants, which is why I chose now to move. I just need to find somewhere to move to...

6

Calling it an early night here. I'm going to try and switch back to Melbourne time as much as I can. Didn't get any work done today and started noticing my historic irritations with my mum creeping in as she's getting better, don't need that polluting my mindspace and going back to teenage memories, so an early retreat and an early start tomorrow where I can focus on what I need to get done for the life I have back home.

6

Here I am awake again in the AMs
Because I slept the day away goddamn
This sickness is kicking my butt-ato
So I am now a hot couch potato

::: spoiler Medical I need to take phosphate supplements due to my levels being very low post iron infusion and having now dropped further which is a risk to my heart.

But theyโ€™ve given me supplements with artificial sweeteners which I donโ€™t tolerate. Iโ€™m seriously struggling with being able to take them.

The resulting stomach upset is wasting fluid I canโ€™t afford to lose (dehydration) and causing extra pain but at the same time I can feel something definitely is wrong. I do need to replace the phosphates. Iโ€™m really weak, dizzy, and dropping things from my numb hands.

Iโ€™ve been searching for any alternatives and rung a support worker who is going to check out some possible options.

If I canโ€™t take them by mouth it will have to be done via iv which means hospital. Iโ€™m hoping Iโ€™ll be able to access it through an urgent care or a privately paid service but maybe not. :::

You absolutely can get tabs without sweeteners, was on them during chemo. Also fizzy berocca-like form. Speak to your pharmacist.

5

I have the fizzy tabs - they contain aspartame and are causing issues that mean I canโ€™t manage the amount and frequency of the doses. Iโ€™m trying to get hold of my doctor - sent an email and will call today seeking the alternative

1
Seagoon_reply
aussie.zone

so many hugs

do you have anyway to relax after taking your tabs? A tv show which completely distracts you? Something to take your mind off the discomfort?

4

It doesnโ€™t really work like that. I try but it causes diarrhoea that depletes my fluids when I already struggle with dehydration and kept landing in the er for iv fluids.

Iโ€™m sorting other solutions because this one is not working

Doing some work on a Sunday (boo) - client issue came up just before the long weekend, which has been on my mind and needed the calm of a weekend day to work through it. Email prepped and ready to send out tomorrow morning. Now I can relax.

6

Man, I'm so exhausted after a 3 hour cooking marathon (not including half an hour of popping over to the shops) plus another hour of cleaning up. But I think we are good for food now for the next 3-4 days. Taken me a while to recover but now I feel ready to at least start writing some work to-do stuff down... I have finally finished my sofa. I finished the cushions a while ago (although it took a long time, all those long edges take forever to sew) and today did the webbing to replace the springs. It took quite a long time and used a lot of staples. Sitting on the couch properly instead of sunken in with the old squashed cushions and stretched springs should be good for my back.

I expected Miss Meow to get freaked out by the noise of the staple gun but it didn't seem to bother her. She even came over and walked all over the webbing midway. Now that it is finished she has indulged in some zoomies, attacked the end of a roll of tape I haven't yet put away, and is now holding on to a small piece of tape she just captured with a dramatic pounce. Who would have thought she was into upholstery?

5
Rusty Ravenreply

I really love the fabric. I bought the roll at a discount fabric place many years (ok, decades) ago, initially intending to cover another couch which I ended up not doing for various reasons. I bought this set with the intention of recovering it, but kept being indecisive about whether I wanted to spend the money on new foam, wasn't sure how to deal with the springs etc. etc. I'm glad I fiinally got myself into gear to actually do it now.

3

Fashion advice : banana print oodie, striped pj pants and ugg boots. Just because you recognize the existence of the outside, that does not mean that you necessarily endorse it.

Boyo once received a pack of toothbrushes from Amazon that no one had ordered, but apparently it's a scam, but not to the receiver but a way for the sender to get themselves fake reviews for "legit" sending of a "purchase". I'm sure there's a better way to explain that.

Oddest thing was that boyo had had dental surgery 2 days beforehand.
