Chrome sux. Force it to not sleep tabs.
Go to chrome://discards/ (Works for Vivaldi too.) If you can't go to that page, enable the dev option. So you can.
If you want a page to never sleep, toggle Auto Discardable to off. Fuken web browser tryin to decide things for me. I hates it.

Funny, I had the opposite experience in Firefox, got myself a (configurable) auto discard addon. It even shows an icon next to discarded tabs, space age shit for chrome lol
I work with various web consoles that can go to sleep at terrible times. The worst is iDRAC during an OS install.
