What kind of city uses the same paint pattern to represent both separate lanes and opposing traffic??? I hope the wolf sets things straight.

There were roads like that in France: 3 lanes, the outer lanes were used by traffic in both directions and the middle lane was used for overtaking. Yes, both directions would use the same lane for overtaking and yes, it is as dangerous and deadly as it sound.

Maybe they change which lanes are which direction depending on traffic flow? I've seen that with overhead electric indicators of lanes (red x's and green check marks).

The wolfs car is going to collide with that blue one which is driving the opposite direction on the same lane.

I think you might mistake the weirdly drawn blue trunk for a hood. The person driving also seems to be sitting front left, indicating the right direction of travel.
