Apparently according to another user it just became open source.
I assumed it wasn't because there was no mention of it on their website+it being on Google Play (not really a condemnation but most Open source software is GitHub first).
Lemmy/femmy etc... Is similar as it it really difficult to understand what you are doing.
Just make a simple european social with user friendly interface ffs.

Indeed, but Jerboa is probably not the most recommended client, those are Voyager, Sync, Boost, Thunder, Summit.

Too bad it's not Open-source.Absolutely incorrect, it IS Open-source since last month.I really like Thunder, it's probably my favourite but sadly its a bit too buggy for my liking.
Of those I'd recommend Voyager. Currently using it as we speak. It's not the most customizable, but works great.
