The CelebEconomy subreddit finally got banned. RIP.I guess this is the new place to post celeb economy games until Lemmy gets overrun by bots and forced to be advertiser friendly. Not gonna say the ban was out of nowhere but it was sudden. At this point I almost believe people were adding explicit prompts to get the sub banned. Anyway CelebEconomy is dead, long live CelebEconomy!
Well the ban seems to have been a targeted hit on my account since I was the only mod also permabanned 🙄😂
I have no choice but to migrate to Lemmy now. It's a shame mostly because my 12 yr old main account I never broke the rules on also caught a ban.
How did they know??
They bad your IP address so any other accounts accessing from that IP get tapped.
That feels illegal…sure its buried in the terms and conditions…

So if you share an IP address with someone who doesn't do anything NSFW they can bag those accounts too? That sucks ass.

First, want to thank the mods again for the thankless task of keeping our old sub afloat for as long as it did despite the new restrictions from Reddit and the increasing difficulty of posting good content over the years (imgur's ban on NSFW content is so quaint and in distant memory by comparison).
I'm sad to see the old subreddit go. I was there not too long after it was created and stuck around for more than half a decade, and now it's gone so suddenly, even though some of us were worried that the day might eventually come.
I'll get over it and I'll post and comment on here, but it is the end of an era.
Honestly bro, it had so many great posts. I really miss the sub, it is what brought me to Reddit
Shame to see it go, the old place definitely helped me through covid lockdown lol.
Hopefully it'll make this place grow a bit and we can finally have some story and explicitness again.
Fuck Reddit anyway. Hopefully more of these NSFW groups start realizing they need to leave that dumpster fire behind

There's the archive that was made when Imgur announced they were going to ban NSFW content. Obviously doesn't have the newer stuff, but pretty much everthing before October 2023.

But if I try to search "celeb" in the search bar, then the search results doesn't not return this celeb economy community. Why this community's access is restricted to people with link?

Yes, now, after I am signed in with my account, I am able to able to see this community and many more communities in search results even after searching "celeb". It wasn't showing before I signed in, even after searching "celeb economy".
