Acorn woodpeckers (𝘔𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘱𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘶𝘴) are the ultimate hoarders of the bird world
This species of bird uses trees for winter storage, which are called granary trees and may have up to 50,000 holes, each filled with an acorn. The acorn woodpecker’s main food source is insects, but acorns serve as key nutritional backup, allowing the birds to make it through the winter.

Trypophobia pecker
Yeah I like birds but I do not like this image at all
What have gotten into me??
One more, just in case.
Better safe than sorry...
Why do I find this to be rather unsettling?
Could be trypophobia
Probably not. It’s not the holes that unsettle me, it’s more the acorns looking like some nasty sort of maggots I think
That's the general thinking behind what trypophobia really is. Not so much a phobia as a triggering of our innate disgust reaction to things that look similar to disease
Thank you for teaching me a new word.
Squirrels must love these.
This is why we need spoiler tags. Boobs I can scroll by, this causes me to pause to recover.
I can't use these. I might need them later!
Damn all these blackheads on my nose are nuts
