A charred skein of linen thread, dating to around 3200 BC
From the pile dwelling settlement of Nußdorf-Maurach, Überlingen, Lake Constance. The damp environment has preserved it in good condition.

Anyone know how that was likely formed?
Could this be the work of a neolithic niddy noddy?
I would guess a form of drop spindle. But who knows, maybe the Niddy Noddy is older than we think!

It's how yarn is usually sold in stores. It's then turned into different forms depending on how it's going to be used
