A charred skein of linen thread, dating to around 3200 BC
From the pile dwelling settlement of Nußdorf-Maurach, Überlingen, Lake Constance. The damp environment has preserved it in good condition.

Anyone know how that was likely formed?
Could this be the work of a neolithic niddy noddy?
I would guess a form of drop spindle. But who knows, maybe the Niddy Noddy is older than we think!
