from what I heard there was like a promotion where the first 100 customers got free food for a year or something

People are stupid. I wouldn't wait that long for any restaurant's food, much less any fast food place.

I've tried their chicken once. It was decent but nothing special, and way overpriced. I would choose Popeye's over them any day and save money.

The one near me always has a huge line around lunch/dinner time that snakes around the whole building, they're slow as balls, and I really don't understand it. Like, they make exactly one thing, and the only question on the menu is how many of that one thing to put into the box. How are they so freaking slow at it?!

The one near me is super fast most of the time because, as you say, they have a super simple menu. In the drive-thru, it's ready by the time you pay and get to the distro window.

Raising Cane's just opened here too and it was like that for like 3 months

That place is so gross. No seasoning on their severely undercooked tenders and only like 3 options of sauce. The overhype is real with this nasty establishment.
