Yup. I bought a cheap, but still nice, faux-leather cover for my nook - makes it more book-like, which I really appreciate.

No, I have a niche one and there’s only the official case (which isn’t what I want) and no real 3rd party options. I have a cheap generic hard case for when I need to put it in a bag though

Yes, I do keep the case on, primarily because I use a large e-paper tablet. Even on my smaller e-readers, I do still keep the case on. However, it's worth noting that I always use cover cases on my e-readers to protect the screen from low pressure damage.

Yes but sometimes I remove it and just use a pop socket (I got the little magnetic ring and a magnetic pop mount that works for me). Sometimes the case is too cumbersome when I'm tired.

No. Mine is so banged up it’s not worth it. I don’t much care though since the screen is fine.

I don't like the extra weight, so no, I don't use case at home. My reader of choice is Kobo Libra Colour, which has those side buttons so it's easy to hold without any extra straps or such. Also, as the display is recessed, it's less likely to be damaged, so I feel it doesn't need extra protection. I wouldn't put it into any kind of bag without a case, though.
