It's crazy to me that the feature sizes on chips are smaller than the wavelength of visible light. Chip designers have not been able to inspect their work under a regular microscope for decades.
We etched special runes onto polished sand so that we control how lightning moves through it, so that it could seem like an intelligent mind of its own.
I could be wrong here but the chips i usually look at under the scope are not quite this colorful, so i think this one is post processed. Its a pretty wide shot so this should still just be an optical microscope not an electron one.
