It's crazy to me that the feature sizes on chips are smaller than the wavelength of visible light. Chip designers have not been able to inspect their work under a regular microscope for decades.

I could be wrong here but the chips i usually look at under the scope are not quite this colorful, so i think this one is post processed. Its a pretty wide shot so this should still just be an optical microscope not an electron one.
