TLDR: the first flight in 1903 relied too much on wind and the 3rd flight in 1904 used a catapult to launch. Never mind that the 3rd flight stayed airborne for 40 minutes, the Brazilian dudes 700ft flight two years later should be counted as the first because Brazil is the greatest.
