You and me both ... tho in retrospect I can kinda understand why Nintendo didn't want players to register him. Satori is said to be an in-universe tribute to the former Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata who passed away during development, and it probably felt weird to the devs if players were able to keep Satori as a pet.

Still, it would have been cool to keep him around somehow.
