Cleaned my little balcony/sunroom and moved the plants around. That was a good job. I am hoping that I will medidate more now that space feels less run down . . But am so tired lately I just can't get through my basic chores. And have bad anxiety about work this week (just overloaded for reasons beyond anyone's control).
I've done too much doom scrolling this morning. Now that my morning coffee is kicking in I think it's time to switch to my book. It's one of the old fashioned paper varieties, and although the content is interesting having to constantly hold it open is tedious, the screen resolution is not that great and there is no ability to change the font size in settings.
I tried that. The trial separation turned into divorce. Alcohol and I bump into each other occassionally at parties and have stilted polite conversations, but we are no longer in a relationship. 10/10 Highly recommended.
Goodnight all. Glad to see the arse end of this weekend tbh. Such awesome weather and I still felt like it was one step forward and two back in my pursuit of domestic glory lol. At least I got most of the laundry done I guess ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ Catchya on the flipside ๐ค๐ผ
Domestic glory be dammed... I spent the whole weekend avoiding all domestic chores and traipsed the city eating and shopping instead. I'll pay for it later in the week, and had to scrounge through the unfolded laundry for work and school uniforms, and the house looks like a bomb hit it.
I bought cheapo corded ozito one and was very surprised it worked so well (going through thick metal posts). I think the bit was almost as expensive as the drill heh. I rate them.
I think the cheap sets (any really) will do the trick but for more dense stuff I usually use/buy the more expensive ones individually as I keep on breaking the cheaper ones lol. It's a graveyard of incomplete sets here :(
Ozito is rubbish, but fine for occasional household use. Bits and batteries are where the real money adds up. Boyo has Pro level gear but still covets the variety of bits that came with my now 20yo GMC set.
Ozito is not rubbish. Ozito are rebanded einhells. I've got a rotary hammer drill i've been abusing 15 years straight that is still punching holes in concrete. And their return policy if you do get a dud is generous as hell
I'm over my uni fieldwork for sure (it's such a long drive just to get to the start of this second section...) but what I do love is that it's a good few hours off my device; and these past two nights I've been meeting my old school friend visiting from overseas, which has been a really really good balm for my soul..
...my lack of hydration earlier in the day is definitely catching up with me though. Owwww headache owwww... back out in the field for work tomorrow so I need an early night...
I think I've put on about 10kg this year and I don't think most of my winter stuff will fit well anymore. Oh well. I'm a new KMart devotee so stuff is cheap enough
We watched Flow this morning. The animated movie about the cat.
Not quite as kid friendly as Wallace and Gromit, but an interesting movie. We had to leave early so I'm keen to see how it finishes.
It's dialogue free and doesn't beat you over the head with story so it's like watching a cinematic playthrough of a game like Journey. I want the boys to watch it when their a bit older to get their takes on the places, animals, and the world. It's a great movie to get their minds going
There's a Labrador in the movie that has that same comfy friendly vibe. It's nice when things like this movie can remind you of the good times with animals
I have been avoiding it because from previews it looks like a sad movie where bad things happen to animals, so not something I want see in my current mood. I donโt actually know anything about it though, itโs the vibe I got? If you tell me itโs happy Iโll see it.
Decided I wanted popcorn for breakfast, because adults can do that. Burnt it, and fused a not-so-heatproof mat to the bottom of the pot. Thankfully this turned into easily peelable plastic because #NotTheLeCreuset!
Yeah, Iโm still in pain and keep tipping back into dehydration so nothing got done today and I spent it sleeping. Hate how this is so chronic and keeps relapsing. I just want to be doing stuff and living my life.
I should be learning about drawing and colour mixing but I canโt. Thereโs so much to doing art โrightโ that Iโm not really able to take in right now. Major analysis paralysis and lack of focus.
Iโm wondering if I should just take the random tertiary colours and paint the crappiest still life ever just to get a feel for the process (and use these tubes up). But I canโt seem to make myself. Even the drawing step stalls. Drawing boxes and shapes is not really making sense to me because I spent so long untrained and just drawing contours by eye. Teaching yourself fundamentals later in life is hard.
Art is probably not the hobby to be attempting when lacking energy and feeling low. Whether you make something bad or just donโt do anything itโs easy to feel like a failure either way.
I have colouring books (and pencils because I canโt paint in bed) but I donโt know.
I feel like Iโm just not doing well mentally or physically (unavoidable) and art has taken on some bad associations/pressure. It doesnโt lessen my desire to do it but it is messing with me.
This is not my biggest concern really. It just sucks that I canโt even do my less physical hobbies ๐
On my hands and knees on and off vaccuming the floor.
My fucking back hurts. I hate being this side of 30 lately lol.
When I have a job, I should invest in some proper workout clothes and go to the gym to strengthen my back and arms. Idc about looking like a sweaty, unattractive bum, I gotta do it.
Sigh. Remembered that I saw a moth or two flying aroundโฆ I forgot to freeze my dry goods to kill any eggs from the supermarket and then didnโt keep them sealed properly. -_- Persistent little bastards.
Whatever, Iโll throw the food out. I wonโt eat it anyway. Hopefully there arenโt any clothes moths because I am not hot washing and drying everything and vacuuming is a stress on the cat
Yeah Iโve got the traps in the pantry already. They might be intended more as detectors but I reason if male moths are getting stuck it might help disrupt the breeding
Nice! And that's it exactly! As long as some get stuck, then they won't breed!
My clothes moths traps have trapped so many! I'm planning on buying more to get as many as possible! It's a great method and means you're not using insect spray (which isn't great for humans, and definitely not cats!)
Yikes, definitely hot wash/dry clean/tumble dry everything cloth if you can as they make a meal out of your natural fibre clothes. Itโs not a bad idea to bag the clean stuff until theyโre gone.
If you ever get desperate there is Frontline spray which contains fipronil and is cat safe. The downside is a tiny spritz bottle is so expensive. It also kills bees so thereโs probably some precautions to take.
no matter how much I nagged him to look after them I found some moth eaten pants on the floor of his wardrobe where they had fallen๐
I would chase every moth , told him to as well, I put up traps and deterrents, I tried to make sure the doors were closed, he just doesn't seem able or just doesn't care . Same with his jumpers.

Seeing that muppet song made me think Iโve never seen the muppet show properly, only snippets here and there. It feels so familiar because itโs everywhere in pop culture. Looked it up, and itโs on Disney! Have added to my watch list.

Have had a few days to digest the season finale and I am satisfied it was a good ending. Questions were answered. Lots of unexpected blood. Accidental death of Mr Drummond felt deserved. Iโm not happy about innie Mark leaving Gemma at the door, but the alternative was his death and loosing Helly, so it was inevitable. Michick and marching band rocked.

Hehehe i'm old enough to have grown up on original muppets. Saw that clip as a kid whilst sitting at my little wooden table, eating off my Skippy plate, ruined the song before it ever had a chance.

I don't know what to do. I have work to catch up on today but I have been resisting it all day. Got the washing done and been for a walk. Just want to lie here and finish my book and then prep food for the week. I can never judge if I need to rest or am being lazy. Or maybe I always feel like I am lazy.
Stuff it. I will just work long days during the week. I will need to anyway and it will be worse if I am not prepped and rested
can anyone recommend a genuinely good (jewellry) engraver in the CBD? I used to go to the old dude in port phillip arcade, but he stopped during COVID.
So much to do today. Last day in this apartment and then off to the new house. ๐
I expect to see LOTS of beach pictures!
there will be ๐
and the marine reserve/wetlands park too
I can't wait to take Ted on a walk to the beach in his cat pusher ... lol
but i'm really going there to work and work as hard as I can , i'll be a half shut in n/k
It's so good. I haven't been down the water today but the air smelled beachy when I headed outside. Even that is nice
yes it is and being near the beach is quieter too ๐
Ooh exciting.
I too demand beach piccys :)

I watched the game. Your team did very well.
Best Iโve seen of them in awhile.
๐ฉต
Did you tip them?
Because I wouldn't have ๐
Nah, I didnโt tip them sadly. Might need some evaluating in the future though if they can do it again.
Season is a bit weird, some teams having odd crappy weeks of play already.
I think it's time for me to have a break from alcohol for a while.
I tried that. The trial separation turned into divorce. Alcohol and I bump into each other occassionally at parties and have stilted polite conversations, but we are no longer in a relationship. 10/10 Highly recommended.
It's too damned expensive anyway. I'd love a drink, but I like not spending the money on it even more.
ditto. I took a break one day for "just a bit" and never went back. Have a glass extremely occasionally, but don't miss it a jot.
24 days of Lent left...
e: Seven days left of lentish.
Can't sleep, just spent a few hours tossing and turning.
Apparently I'm up in time to hear the local meth heads lose their minds in the alley ๐ late night snack and a 'radio' show it is!
the council or who ever are doing road works in the alley at night
and during the day there are 3 houses directly my neighbours undergoing loud renovation, another neighbour is doing stinky painting
getting tired of this
Back to bed to read and listen to the birds? Don't mind if I do.

I like your style Eagle! In fairness to myself, I could spend the entire weekend cleaning and the place would still look like we'd been robbed ๐
Oh mine does too! Too many people and too much stuff. And pets! And the housework will always be there!
You got this! I believe in you and sending you all my good vibes!
Peace and hugs. You got this

Alrighty, gonna finish this coffee then vacc the back bedroom and living room, and go over the hallway again.
$32 vacc is getting used and abused today!
I did the same thing when I got a fancy dyson lol
I've been sucking up bastard cocoons and unlucky moths haha!
Gotta wait for mein liebe to wake up so he can help me move the couch and I can get under there too lol.
I wish my big fat 2nd hand Dyson didn't die, but here we are
Yeah the little rotary tool doesnโt have enough power to enlarge the little drilled holes with the grinder bit.
Bunnings has an Ozito drill for $50 but can I justify itโฆ I would have to buy separate drill bits too and not sure if universal
I bought cheapo corded ozito one and was very surprised it worked so well (going through thick metal posts). I think the bit was almost as expensive as the drill heh. I rate them.
Would there be a particular bit or set to buy? If I get one I only need something cheap and basic for general use
I think the cheap sets (any really) will do the trick but for more dense stuff I usually use/buy the more expensive ones individually as I keep on breaking the cheaper ones lol. It's a graveyard of incomplete sets here :(
Thanks, it wouldnโt be anything too heavy here
We did 90% of our renos with an aldi bit set. Just get a mid set and update the bits you need as you wear them
Ozito is rubbish, but fine for occasional household use. Bits and batteries are where the real money adds up. Boyo has Pro level gear but still covets the variety of bits that came with my now 20yo GMC set.

My gran's nicest dog was called Flow, probably short for Florence. I remember cuddling with that dog on the porch at her place in Jerilderie.
There's a Labrador in the movie that has that same comfy friendly vibe. It's nice when things like this movie can remind you of the good times with animals

Doesthedogdie is your friend here :)
It's good and not too sad, but some of the ways they chose to block things makes it really stressful.
It's not 90 minutes of animated animal torture. The cat just needs to be continually put in a situation for the tension to keep up.
We didn't catch the end but it wasn't overly sad up to that point. It has a really hopeful vibe and a lighter tone.
It's like, just because it's an animated motive it's not completely for kids.
