Nothing takes away opportunities like poverty. Participation proceeds most friendships and if you can’t afford that step, that makes you lose all kinds of networking chances which can make or break the doorway to more opportunities. Not saying there aren’t exceptions but this realization is fresh on my mind and had to semi vent.
Bah, those are (mostly) immutable characteristics! You may as well bemoan opportunities missed because you weren't born a French noble of the 14th century.
