Alcohol really is one of the best anti anxiety drugs on the planet. But, the side effects aren't worth it in the long run.

I've never been an alcoholic, but for a long time I felt like slightly drunk me was a better and happier me.

Turns out anxiety meds also make me a better me.

Glad I didn't embrace drink me more.

My boomer mom when it comes to anxiety/depression: Back when we were young that wasn't even a thing!

Also my mom talking about alcoholism during that time: Oh yeah half my colleagues were alcoholics that never fully recovered from it but only 2 or 3 drank themselves to death.

Centuries of drinking alcohol before we finally invented water filtration have really messed up our species.

I realize it’s just a joke, but from someone whose hangovers were so bad, I literally almost killed myself, I don’t recommend alcohol as medication. Fortunately I’m five years sober and been in therapy since my last drink, so there's that in case anyone needed to hear it

I mean, in a sense. Alcohol is an anxiety inducing medication... Unless you never stop drinking
