Still Life was my first introduction to Opeth. It took me a longer than it should have to go back and check out this album. This track, When, Demon of the Fall, all bangers.

Fun fact: the album name, "My Arms, Your Hearse", is a reference to a Comus song called "Drip Drip"

I walked into a philosophy class in high school a little early, and the teacher had my arms on. I've been hooked ever since, and it's still my go to. Also, the moor is such a strong start to an album.

That’s sick, sounds like a fun teacher! And agreed, The Moor is a whole journey in itself.

Their first 6 albums are some of metal's finest offerings. Morningrise was my introduction and I was hooked as soon as the double kicks hit at the beginning of Advent. By the time the first song was over I already knew this would be one of my favorite bands of all time.

Love that. Similar story for me, but with that sudden drop in The Moor after the acoustic passage. It’s actually unbelievable they kept up the quality releases for so long.
