This community is for both beginner, intermediate and advanced tutorials. I couldn't draw foreshortening with limbs years ago and this trick helped me understand that it is just a series of 'circles' which represent the contour of the cylindrical shape of the legs, for example. It helps it look less flat and it is easier to apply shading when you have a better understanding of 3D. Also, this is an old video I pulled from my early learning to draw days. So, I wasn't able to accurately draw foreshortened perspective before I learned this technique. It works when you have a base understanding of perspective and form.
Edit: I almost didn't understand your reference and had to look up that meme. Yeah, I hate those step by step tutorials that put in all the impressive details at the last step that just makes a huge stride from the previous. If you disliked Sycra's video, check out Alphonso Dunn, he does mainly ink but has a good understanding of teaching perspective, as he is a teacher. I could not find his video on the coil technique, so I posted this one from my old playlist. Alphonso's videos really helped with fundamentals and he has a great book as well. Jazza is another YouTube artist who has old videos relating to fundamentals as well as Proko.
