European soda brands ?
I was driving and found myself craving some caffeinated soda. Since coca and Dr pepper are now off limits I just downed an espresso and got a (European) ice tea, but I'm wondering if there are actual alternatives

I am a hydro homie, but as someone who has a tendency to not eat enough, sometimes that sugar rush hits different
Almost every country has tons of domestic soda brands, though most of them are only available locally/regionally and some of them are probably USA-owned.
In Germany there's Fritz Cola, Afri-Cola, Sinalco, Mio-Mio, Club Mate, Bionade, Paulaner Spezi and many more.
Yeah in France we have tons of "regional" colas but outside of Brittany (Breizh cola) and Corsica (Corsica cola) you're not finding them in a gas station
Gas stations are definitely difficult, many of them just don't have the shelf space for 5 different cola brands, and if you can only pick one it's hard to justify anything but coca cola from the perspective of the gas station owner ...
Yeah, I guess I'll just settle on gas station coffee with a lot of sugar. Probably better on my stomach than cola too, but that's a low bar to clear
Kofola is really popular in Czech republic and surrounding countries.
I've recently been enjoying Fritz-Kola, which is a german brand of cola. I was also super happy to learn that Red Bull is european!
Most european supermarket chains will have their own brand and they will most probably come from a local company. Lidl, auchan, carrefour...
Then we also have local brands. In italy there is sanpellegrino, san benedetto, ferrarelle, lemonsoda...
San Pellegrino does taste good, but I don't feel particularly great buying it. Literally coca cola feels morally better than Nestlé.
Irn-Bru, made by AG Barr. Scotland voted for Remain if memory serves.
I'm ok with UK stuff, they did some dumb stuff but nothing on the level of "elect Donald Trump twice" yet. Also Scotts get a free pass anyway because of our shared history of pissing off the
BritsEnglish (I'm french). That being said I have sadly never seen a can of irn bru in FranceScots are Brits, my Gaulish friend. It's the English whom you have a shared affinity for pissing off.
Yeah, it was a big part of their leaving the UK campaign.
AG Barr also make Tizer, DnB, and a range of standard sodas (cola, lemonade, cream soda, etc.).
All your soft drink needs well catered for.

Fun fact about that is that Rubicon along with defunct childhood favourite Panda Pops were originally made by Hall & Woodhouse Brewery (of Badger Beers fame), when they fancied a try at becoming a soft drinks company too. When they lost interest they wrapped up Panda Pops and sold on Rubicon.

Any thing by Carls Berg, Squash, Faxe Kondi, Booster energy drink, jolly Cola ....that if you are in Denmark or Scandinavia in general
Thy Sport, Fatdane cola, Craft Soda by Tuxen Brewing, Hancock Sport cola, Frem Sport.
All of them Danish, I've tried some of them and can wholeheartedly recommend them.
I wish Faxe Kondi was available in Sweden. It's really good.

Possibly. Unfortunately I live quite far from the border so if I go far enough to get to the border I might as well go into Denmark proper. It's not like it takes a whole day to drive through Denmark ;)

Thanks, the price seems pretty good. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that they ship anything themselves. I need to collect it in Germany or arrange shipping myself.
Maybe it's available somewhere in Sweden for a reasonable price. If not I guess I will just have to wait until the next time I go to Denmark. I guess the rarity also increases the taste.
