Johnnies Beef is my go-to.
I really need to try johnnies, everytime a beef discussion happens online or in person this place gets mentioned.
I am on board with the first two. I personally think both Portillos and Buena have gone down hill a bit in quality. Not really in Chicago but Paradise Pup ( 1724 S River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60018) should be on the list.
Anthony's by Midway (63rd and Cicero) makes a dope beef IMO.
Have I been to every beef joint in the city? No. Do I need to? No. Because I have been to Johnnie's. It is the best. Full stop.
