"We are proud of our leadership in responsible renewable energy development and we are committed to its continued growth," said a statement from Nathan Neudorf, minister of affordability and utilities.

"This approach will provide future renewable investments with the certainty and clarity required for long-term development."

Ah yes, industry loves random, unpredictable, impulsive rash decisions that negatively and immediately impact investment on a moment's notice. Very good leadership—reasonable too.

If they must implement something like this, they certainly could just evaluate development on a case-by-case basis until they have better systems in place. There is no rational basis to implement a moratorium unless you are deliberately trying to hamstring renewables.
