I hope not. A lot of us just joined, or will be joining soon, especially given Reddit's move to start banning people who even upvote content that Reddit doesn't like. I myself jumped here from Reddit this morning. Same username.

Yea, I asked the question days ago, before that influx.

In the meantine I went in and posted/reorganized some stuff.

Gonna lock this post.

We do not have any traffic here and I don't know if the other mods are still around. Maybe it is just best to cut ties.

There's been a mass exodus from Reddit for the past like year, and it's only increasing. I just found this from a search because I wanted a non-reddit preppers community.

Due to the feeling of this place being abandoned, I was about to leave to other shores and close my account.

I can keep it up, but preferably I would step down as moderator (but not without a proper successor).

I think it's important to have a non-reddit preppers forum, and lemmy seems like a good option. It may just take time to grow, but what harm does it do to just keep this around?

Without seeing that exodus I bascially agree with you. But to be realistic, we set this about 2 years ago.

For example a major reddit community I was with, decided to go with telegram instead of something sane like matrix 😬 I fear lemmy is -for now- simply and sadly not first choice.
