I believe the group chat is hosted on the matrix.org instance which is geographically located in the UK.
Which makes this even more fitting :)!
This community has made me realize how we have more alternatives to US than I ever realized. I hope my sisters and brothers over at canada are also finding european products an alternative to those things that canada itself doesn't have!

To be honest, there's not much to do, everyone is pretty well-behaved. The only issue is, like this community, people trying to sneakily promote their own stuff.
Yeah I've never had issues in a matrix group except the occasional spam.

I joined but I only see messages saying “it was not possible to decrypt message”
It's encrypted, it can sometimes take a but for the keys to propagate.
