A lot of federal workers lose pension if fired for cause. That's how this entire shakedown has been getting pushed forth.
Dumb AF rule. You pay into the fund for years but lose it all because your boss doesn't like you?
To be fair, this is a pretty common rule in a lot of places. Just the US has way less other, some might argue, rational social supports.
