Shout out to the saboteur, one of my favourite games. The way the world goes from black and white to colour as you destroy the nazis is a nice touch.
Yes, killing Nazis is fun. But even as an antifascist, left leaning German, I'd like to remind people of the fact that fighting in WWII was mandatory for German men. Again, yes, the vast majority of German soldiers were indeed Nazis and they willingly fought for Hitler, they didn't need to be forced at all. Fuck these people. However, there are other examples: My great grand dad was member of the SPD when the Nazis came to power, he was interned in Dachau for a short time in 1933, and forced to join the Wehrmacht. He fell somewhere in Russia in 1942. Not defending Nazis here, just saying. A substantial number of Germans were forced to fight against their will, not wanting to fight was defeatism according to the Nazis, and defeatism was usually punished by execution. Now have fun killing Nazis, by all means. Just be aware of this historical fact while doing so. Thank you.

I recently watched this BBC show from the 80's, POW drama. "Colditz".
The kommandant of the camp is a very sympathetic, but patriotic, older Wehrmacht officer. I think the show portrayed pretty well how the Wehrmacht had their own honour which definitely clashed with the Party. He has to navigate morals and following orders, but is a very upstanding man.
Like I'd have loved to have had a dad like that.
It's not based completely on reality, but several of the characters are based on real ones. So not as accurate as Chernobyl for instance, but some truth to it. Perhaps more like Rogue Heroes.
I suggest the show, but some younger people prolly will find it too slow and stale.
There should be a mod which replaces Hitler with muskrat. I would play that.
