I searched all the articles i could find about the quarrel between musk and Danish astronaut Morgenson.
The only two sources with headlines that mention Musk called him retarded are Salon and Daily Beast. The Hill did say that Musk called him an idiot. All the rest just say they're fighting and that Morgenson called out Musk's lie. Why does everyone have to sugarcoat and 'both sides' everything?!?!

The only article I read said that Musk had called Morgenson a slur for someone of limited intellect, or something like that.
A small example of the big problem of mainstream media's sanewashing.
It's in the articles, but the headlines bury what i consider to be a pretty important part of the story.
