Are you looking just local to you? Like in your city or are you willing to travel?

Really depends on how fast the artist is and how well/long you can sit. Look up some local conventions and see who is coming thru and check out their portfolios! What kind of style are you looking to get?

Are you thinking of a fine line black and grey tattoo or a full color thing?

I would go on IG and look at all your local shops and see if anyone is sticking out to you. If not start looking at the next city over and such. For my back piece I was doing day trips to Calgary. I would leave Vancouver around 7 am, get to the shop between 11-12, get tattooed for about 4-5 hours and then fly home. Made for long days but the tattoo was worth it!
