Process Question, any repercussions for blocking communities?

NSFW

New here and just checking… There are a lot of communities that aren’t really my thing, not to “yuck” Anyone else else’s “Yum.” Will there be any sort of automated flagging of my account if I’m blocking a lot of communities as I see them pop up?

EDIT: Got solid answers - thanks y’all!

No.

Blocking communities is the best way to make lemmy work for you. I have 200+ communities and people blocked and this is the best internet experience I have ever had.

I have +/-40 blocked communities, most of them because they're about genAI, plus a few ones about practices which turn me off.

Nope. Block away. Blocking just stops the community from showing up in your feed or you being able to see it in searches. If it's got absolutely nothing of interest to you, it's the best thing you can do.

As others wrote, blocking is okay. Using the timeline that follows only your subscriptions might work too (instead of the "all" timeline), but that would have the disadvantage that it is harder to find "new stuff" (unless it would be posted to the communities you are subscribed to).
