@[email protected] Years ago I worked at a visitor-friendly preserve in AZ. We had a dark morph often perched on a utility pole near the visitor center. One busy Spring morning this one guy just wouldn't believe it was a Redtail. After a couple attempts I just left him and went to talk to other people. After about 5 minutes a roar of laughter from his friends.

@[email protected] Good story! If it was a dark-morph Western (calurus) redtail, it probably had a lot of red on the tail; hopefully it took off and showed him that tail!
