I'm wondering if we're in the homestretch now - if this is going to be the last major story arc, and all that'll be left is the two of them making their couple status an established fact instead of just a tacit arrangement that literally everyone they know already recognizes and wholeheartedly supports.

I think that's highly likely, seeing as how comfortable they are already, with themselves and each other.

It's almost like an afterthought at this point - they function as a couple and everybody else sees them as a couple and approves. All that's left is actually acknowledging it.

I'd love to see a scene where they finally profess their love for each other, then go rushing out to tell everyone that they're a couple, and the universal reaction is, "Well duh."
