Don't really know that that's an objectionable removal. Just telling a guy their religion is full of shit on a post not about their religion specifically is a bit uncivil.
Let me put it this way, man - if someone came onto RoughRomanMemes and said something along the lines of "I'm Catholic and learned Latin that way and now I'm really interested in Rome, can anyone give any recommendations?" and a commenter came out below with a completely serious "Catholicism is bullshit", I'd probably remove the comment too.
The last thing one wants is a hostile environment for potential enthusiasts.
